What Ward Do I Live In?

Thornton is split into four wards, and City Council is comprised of 9 members— a mayor (who is elected at-large), and two city council members per ward. Council generally meets every Tuesday, either for a council meeting or planning session. All meetings are open to the public, and there is a period for public participation. During that time, anyone may speak on any subject for three minutes.

Elections for the city council seats are staggered in odd years. This year’s election will be on Tuesday, Nov. 7. Colorado does mail-in ballots, so your ballot will be mailed to you in mid-October and you can vote at your convenience and return your ballot by mail or drop it off at a designated location.

It’s important that your voter registration is up to date. Make sure yours is here.
